A limousine-style version of Del Boy's famous three-wheeler has been unveiled.

The digitally created Reliant Rialto van is to advertise this year's Only Fools and Horses Christmas special.

It will only appear in the trailers and not in the programme.

Digital effects artist Aron Baxtor from Condor Post Production mapped digital images of the side of the van on to the film to create the body of the limo.

Richard Heeley, the BBC producer behind the trailer, said: "It was an idea we cooked up just for the trailer. It's quite a good double joke.

"First of all you see the apparently normal Rialto shot from behind but juxtaposed with a Porsche and a Ferrari in a glamorous Monte Carlo setting.

"Then you see it from the back. Those shots in themselves look funny but the punch line comes when you see the shot from the side and it turns out to be a limo."
