eBay to add Image Search to app

eBay is planning to add an Image Search function to its iOS and Android apps later this year that will allow users to take pictures of products and search for similar items on eBay.

The e-commerce giant announced the new feature in a blog post and revealed that it’s being powered by computer vision and deep learning technologies.

‘With Image Search, you can take a photo of something you want to buy—or use an existing photo from your camera roll—and put it into the eBay Search bar on our native apps. Then, we’ll show you listings that match the item you are looking for.’
