The shape I'm in: Bríd Stack, Cork ladies’ footballer
A secondary school teacher, Bríd loves the balance of teaching PE and maths. She had 26 third years sitting Junior Cert maths this month.
“Of course I’m thinking of them — you just hope they do themselves justice and show off all they’ve learned,” says the 31-year-old.
Married just six months to primary school teacher Carthach Keane, the couple live in Bishopstown.
* Bríd is brand ambassador for Topaz Cash for Clubs 2017 — a nationwide community-based initiative that supports clubs of all sizes with cash investment.
I’m in good enough shape. I’ve been carrying a few injuries but now, hopefully, I’m in flying fit form for the championships.
If I wasn’t looking after myself, I’d be susceptible to putting on weight but I listen to my body and I know what to do to look after myself.
My husband’s really into healthy eating, which keeps me on track. He’s always home before me with dinner ready. He’s a good cook and keeps things varied.
He’s into fish and sweet potato and always finds a way to get veg into every dinner — I’m not mad into vegetables.
I always eat breakfast. Every morning without fail, I take probiotic, multi-vitamin and fish oil tablet. I’d have porridge before work but in summer I go for a smoothie or protein shake. I drink lots of water.
99s — 100%. I’d eat 99s all day long — I might need to go to a couple of support meetings! I’m obsessed with them.
I never deprive myself — if you limit yourself, you’d live a very boring life.
Maybe something that happened throughout the day. But more often than not, it’s looking at my phone.
I’d be reading up on sports, national and entertainment news and checking social media.
I’m cutting it out at night-time for the summer though — I’m starting Lent on it! I know it can stop you relaxing.
When I’m physically active, I’m definitely happiest. Carthach and I live close to a pitch and we often go over for a puck around. Or we’d go for a walk.
I also love going to watch sport. And I love meeting my friends and going home to my mum and dad.
I’ll have to say Himself first. My sister, Muireann — she’s the happiest person I know, along with comedy duo Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. I just love their quick wit.
Tom Ford Black Orchid. Carthach bought it for me years ago. I’ve loved it ever since. It was the scent I wore for my wedding.
To have naturally blonde hair — I’ll have to fake it ’til I make it!
When I watched My Sister’s Keeper — I don’t know why I did it to myself. I cried solid. It’s just a very sad story.
Dishonesty and lack of initiative — I love someone being intrinsically motivated and passionate about something in their life, someone who just goes out and makes things happen for themselves.
My lateness — I definitely need to improve on that. If I’m meeting up with the girls, they kind of know I’ll be five or 10 minutes late.
I do. Mum and Dad are devout Catholics. I go to Mass as often as I can. It was very important to me to get married in my local church with the local priest.
There would have to be a 99 in the day! Plus having the craic with my friends and husband — I love being around positive people.
