Review: Farpoint and Aim Controller (PS4)
Set on a dangerous alien planet populated by giant spiders that want to eat you, Farpoint places a light gun in your hands and tasks you with surviving the hostile environment.
The game’s story is fairly weak compared to blockbusters like Destiny or Far Cry and ostensibly serves as fodder for the real reason as to why you should play Farpoint: the Aim Controller.
Farpoint was developed exclusively for PlayStation VR and is one of the first games to use Sony’s PS VR Aim Controller, a revolutionary piece of kit that offers an incredibly realistic and precise method for playing the game.
Indeed, it is the Aim Controller that elevates Farpoint to something of a must-have for any VR enthusiasts as it adds to the already impressive PS VR headset to create a truly immersive experience quite unlike anything else on the virtual reality market.
Its perfect responsiveness ensures the in-game gun model instantly matches how you hold the controller and where you point it, completely eliminating lag and stuttering and directional problems associated with VR controllers.
All in all Farpoint and the Aim Controller offer an exciting and fully immersive virtual reality experience and a taste of things to come.
