Instagram rolls out new Direct feature

Instagram is currently rolling out a new feature for its Direct platform: a Snapchat-like disappearing image and video messaging tool designed to ‘turn any conversation into a visual conversation’.

Instagram unveiled the new feature in a post on the company’s blog, and suggest it can be used to keep friends up-to-date with your latest activities.

Users can access the feature by tapping on the new blue camera icon found at the bottom of the Direct menu to take a disappearing image or video and then tapping the arrow to send it to friends or groups.
