Sony and E Ink announce new partnership

Sony Semiconductor Solutions Corporation and E Ink have announced a new partnership between the two companies, as revealed in press release from Sony.

The purpose of the partnership is to establish a joint venture responsible for ‘planning, designing, developing, manufacturing, selling, distributing and licensing products that utilize electronic paper displays, as well as related applications and the integration platform for system partners’.

Sony and E Ink have worked together on a number of projects since 2004; their new joint venture will build upon previous collaborations to develop advanced electronic paper display products and systems in addition to stimulating the e-paper market.
