The Samsung Galaxy S7 Active was supposed to be an especially hardy version of the high end smartphone with a shatterproof screen and impressive water and dust proof features. Except that wasn't quite true.

Samsung fixes leaky Galaxy S7 Active

The phone failed some waterproofing tests in pretty spectacular fashion, forcing Samsung to admit that a flaw in manufacturing had led to that element being less secure than planned. You can read about the failed tests here.

Samsung has said that the issue has now been fixed and new models will be safe to immerse in water for up to 30 minutes. It has said it will be honouring warranties for any phone which do become damaged by the issue but there's no way of knowing how many models could have the flaw.
