Twitter increasing GIF size limit

Twitter is easing yet another limitation, as it’s upping the size of GIFs that you can post from 5MB to 15MB.

This change only applies to the web version of Twitter; on mobile the limit is still 5MB. Twitter’s support page reads, "Photos can be up to 5MB; animated GIFs can be up to 5MB on mobile, and up to 15MB on web.”

This is the latest in a series of welcome changes that Twitter is making. It recently excluded additional elements like usernames, images, and polls from its 140-character limit. Meanwhile, in July, it started supporting videos of up to 140 seconds in length.
