Snapchat Memories remembers your stories

Snapchat is changing, evolving from an ephemeral message service to an entire social network, and now it has a memory.

Snapchat Memories is a way to easily save items or entire stories for posterity. You'll be able to easily add pictures and videos to Memories as you go, meaning they're ready to be used in a later creation, or you can just browse back through them whenever you like.

As you can see in the video, it's also easy to mark snaps or individual elements for your eyes only, because Snapchat still wants to be about personal messaging to some degree.

The official blog post talks about a couple of ways this new feature could be used, including linking together multiple snaps to tell the entire story of a holiday, or fishing around for older pictures when a birthday or anniversary arrives.

If you're reposting something, a simple frame will let your viewers know that it's from the past - which is a simple and elegant solution. Memories is a change to how the entire Snapchat experience works, and yet more evidence that this is a company which plans on remaining relevant for a long time to come.
