Quake Champions might be free to play

Quake Champions made quite the impact at E3 2016, emerging out of pretty much total secrecy to suggest that the king of online shooters is back.

It couldn't come at a better time for developers id Software who have just released a remake of Doom that has gone down extremely well with players and critics. They're on the crest of a wave, and will want to keep the hits coming after years in the doldrums.

The latest news about Champions comes via a German site called Gamestar and an interview with studio director Tim Willits.
