Mr Robot season 2 will be longer - which is good news for all

Mr Robot is probably the best new show from 2015 that you didn't watch.

Happily now is the perfect time to get caught up because the second season is about to start in mid July and you're definitely going to need to see what's come before. The show from the USA Network is seriously mind bending stuff, and the events of the last few episodes in the particular were properly stunning.

For the new season, it has just been confirmed that we'll be getting some extra time with Elliot and co, thanks to there being 12 episodes instead of 10. Everyhing ep will be directed by series creator Sam Esmail, who will be keeping his various characters in line.

Rami Malek returns in the central role of Elliot as he deals with the fallout, both global and personal, of season 2. He's joined by the likes of Christian Slater (who is serious good here, and picked up a Golden Globe for his efforts) as well as Portia Doubleday and Carly Chaikin. On board for the second season is Grace Gummer who despite her name is actually the daughter of Meryl Streep - she's playing an FBI agent on the fsociety case.

The first two episodes of season 2 will air back to back on the 13th of July, 2016.
