Inspiring story of how Uncharted 4 became accessible to less able players

Uncharted 4 is out now and it's bound to be one of the best games of the year, and a fitting end to the saga of Nathan Drake.

But there's also a lot more going on behind the scenes from the team at Naughty Dog, including some impressive accessibility features which make the game playable for a wider range of people than ever before.

The presence of those options in the game menu came out of conversations internally at Naughty Dog and also from interactions with Josh Straub, a disabled gamer and fan of the series who is the editor of DAGER. You can hear from Josh in this inspiring video which shows how much work the developers put into making their game as open as possible.

It's pretty amazing to see a company this big making sweeping changes to how the game works to ensure that they don't disappoint fans, especially during the development of easily the biggest title they've ever made. And it's just another sign of the level of detail and effort Naughty Dog puts into every aspect of their games.

And now more people than ever can enjoy this final adventure of Nathan Drake. You can read what Josh had to say in his Disability Review of Uncharted 4 right here.
