Captain America Civil War soars and Disney dominates

Captain America Civil War had already scored big at the Irish and UK box office last weekend and now has more to celebrate with its release Stateside.

The film took in an estimated $181 million in three days (which could be a little higher by the end of today). That makes it the third biggest weekend for a Marvel movie of all time and also the fifth highest weekend ever - domestically that is - after The Force Awakens, Jurassic World, The Avengers and Age of Ultron.

To put the growth of this franchise in perspective, Civil War is the 9th biggest earning Marvel movie in America after just three days of release.
