The Jungle Book roars at the box office

The blockbuster feature has scored $103 million at the US box office, making it the third film to break 100 million already this year and the second largest April opening ever, after Furious 7. It's also one of Disney's biggest first weekends in the last number of years.

In the rest of the world The Jungle Book picked up $187 million for a global total of close to 300 million, or around €260 million. Early review for the film had been overwhelmingly positive but this haul is still well over what was estimated by the studio.
