Dear Esther also coming to consoles soon

Before hitting it big with Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, developers The Chinese Room released a game called Dear Esther, popularising the term 'walking simulator.' And now it's coming to consoles.

The game is actually a good deal more than that, and we're going to call it a 'narrative adventure.' It puts the player on a gorgeously appointed island with the freedom to explore as they will. As you follow the path a voiceover will reveal the story which took place here, with emotional connections to your own life and wonderful poetry and delivery. It's a unique experience and together with its wonderful design is well worth seeking out.

There's a version now in the works for PS4 and Xbox One, which will retain all the originals wonderful elements - like Jessica Curry's haunting score - and will also add a commentary from the people who made it. There's no specific release date has been announced, but it's expected to ship this summer.
