It has built a machine, Liam, that disassembles iPhones when it's time to say goodbye. This means that components can be repurposed, and materials can be removed and live on.

It's a nifty system that's been in the pipeline for years. Apple says that "True innovation means considering what happens to a product at every stage of its life cycle." Apple opened its event on Monday by speaking about subjects like being environmentally friendly and this is another push in that direction.
