The fun-loving brand has teamed up with a number of well known Irish personalities in a video showing how easy is it to say yes.

The video stars actors Ian Lloyd Anderson and Emmet Kirwan, DJ and model Vogue Williams, comedian Joanne McNally and members of Dublin’s GAA team Michael Darragh MacAuley and Rory O’Carroll along with models Holly Carpenter and Thalia Heffernan.

The ice cream brand is also kicking off a nationwide 'YEStival'. They will travel to Cork (May 2), Mayo (May 9), Galway (May 16) and Dublin (May 17) in support of the 'Yes Equality' campaign.

Over the four dates, those who pledge to vote Yes can kick back and enjoy a complementary scoop of ice cream as they please to support marriage equality on May 22.

"At Ben & Jerry’s we believe everyone deserves the right to love who they love," says Ed Shepherd, Social Mission Manager with the ice-cream brand.

"Equality has been a core value of Ben & Jerry’s since the company’s earliest days and marriage equality is an issue that’s particularly near and dear to the brand.

"We’re also all about fun too, so what better way to show our support for marriage equality in Ireland than a series of YEStivals – scooping ice cream for fans as we spread the word!”

Ben & Jerry’s has a long-standing history with equal rights for all since 1978. In 2009, it successfully renamed its US flavour Chubby Hubby to Hubby Hubby and in 2012, renamed Oh My! Apple Pie! to Apple-y Ever After in the UK.

In 2013, Ben & Jerry’s symbolically renamed its popular Mint Chocolate Chunk ice cream flavour to ‘EngageMint Party’, and along with partner Marriage Equality successfully urged members of Dáil Éireann and Seanad Éireann to support equal marriage rights in Ireland with a referendum.

Now, as Ireland approaches the referendum this May, Ben & Jerry’s has once again joined forces with Yes Equality to scoop for change and empower people to say YES.
