Travel makes my girlfriend too tired for sex

My girlfriend travels for work. She comes back shattered and sometimes doesn’t feel like having sex. 

If she’s only back for one night a week, that can mean that sometimes we don’t have sex for a few weeks. Friends have suggested we should try phone sex or sexting, but I don’t know where to begin.

Travelling for work puts a big strain on any relationship, but I suspect the issue here is less about physical tiredness and more about emotional distance. When you spend more time apart than you do together, reconnecting can be difficult. The pressure to cram a week’s worth of intimacy into a single night can be intimidating and she probably worries that if she switches off, she might find it difficult to switch back on again. It is hard for her because she is doing the travelling, but it is equally challenging for you too. Your girlfriend is obviously doing this job because it is important for her career, but presumably that leaves you questioning where you fit in to her future plans.
