O’Conor masterpiece highlight of Adam’s sale

AN early masterpiece by Roderic O’Conor will highlight the James Adam’s sale of Important Irish Art in Dublin next Wednesday, May 28, at 6pm.

Landscape with Road and Farm buildings, which dates to c1889, demonstrates a deep awareness of Impressionist techniques by this celebrated Irish artist. Estimated at €150,000-€250,000 it is one of four O’Conors from the dining room at Deepwell, the Blackrock, Co Dublin, home of the late Dublin businessman, John Reihill, of the fuel importing business, Tedcastles.

All four are in this sale which includes a selection of fresh-to-market art. Landscape with Trees, Nueil-sur-Layon is estimated at €50,000-70,000, Landscape with Garden and Mountain is estimated at €35,000-45,000 and Le Drap Blanc has an estimated value of €60,000-80,000.
