Halloween picks and treats

Roz Crowley suggests some hearty Halloween treats bursting with flavour and easy to stretch for a crowd.

Her soup is creamy and satisfying, the stew hearty and spicy, the apples sweet and delicious, and the biscuits perfect for trick-or-treaters or to serve with ice cream or stewed apple.

All are economical and can be made in advance for parties, and numbers doubled easily.
