Learner Dad: 'My wife likes the Supervet — a bit too much if you ask me'

Noel Fitzpatrick, aka 'The Supervet', has inspired Pat's family to use Manuka honey on their porridge. Picture: Duncan Webb

I WENT for lunch with a friend of mine during the week. He’s a bit of an old woman like myself, so instead of talking about football or Covid-19, we got onto porridge. He told me that his youngest one has just started on the porridge, which made me feel superior because our youngest one started on it years ago. Then he reclaimed the high ground with the news that his kids peel and boil apples every night, to mash and spread on their porridge the next day. (What are they? The Flanders?) That’s us beaten out the gate.

One problem with Manuka honey is it has to be flown all the way from New Zealand.
