The 40-acre farm in Grange, Campile, that sold in three lots at auction.
Things are busy in the Wexford land auction scene right now, with one successful auction of 40 acres near New Ross and another 18 acres of land near Gorey coming under the hammer on April 22.
The 40 acres at Grange, Campile (close to the ancestral home of JF Kennedy) was offered in three lots.

Lot 1 (14.6 acres, currently in stubble); Lot 2 (24 acres currently in stubble and permanent pasture); Lot 3 (a derelict farmhouse with outbuildings and paddocks on 1.3 acres).
For sale with New-Ross-based PN O’Gorman Auctioneers, the farm went under the hammer on March 20 at the Horse & Hound Hotel in Ballinaboola, New Ross.
“The auction was extremely well attended,” says selling agent Anne Carton. “Lot 1 opened at €130,000 and two adjoining farmers bid to €190,000 (€13,700/acre).
"Following consultation with sellers, bidding continued to €200,000. It was then declared on the market and sold.
“Lot 2 opened at €180,000. Again, it was bid upwards by two bidders to €280,000 (€11,700/acre). It was then declared on the market and sold to a local farmer.
“Lot 3 was the derelict farmhouse that had attracted a lot of interest. With four active bidders, it opened at €40,000. It was declared on the market at €85,000 and the hammer fell at €93,000 — sold to a local buyer.

In North Wexford, meanwhile, Gorey-based auctioneers Quinn Property will be taking the online route to auction an 18-acre holding at Inch, Gorey on Wednesday, April 22.
“The holding is situated in a much sought-after location, 2km from Castletown, with an array of amenities close by, such as endless sandy beaches and golf courses,” says selling agent David Quinn.
Dublin is a one-hour commute away and the property will be divided into lots: Lot 1 (10.4 acres with derelict residence and yard and obvious planning potential); Lot 2 (7.8 acres also with derelict residence and yard).
Guide price is €12,000-€15,000/acre.
