38a West Cork farm guiding €400k-€450k
The land is at Derryclough, about 2km west of Drinagh village and is of mixed quality.
New to the market with Dunmanway-based auctioneers Lehanes & Associates is a 38-acre farm near Drinagh in West Cork — an area associated with a strong history of an industrious co-operative.
The land is at Derryclough, about 2km west of Drinagh village and is of mixed quality.
“The 38 acres are all in one block,” says selling agent Daniel Lehane. “Of that, about 30 acres is quite good — south-facing land all laid out in pasture. The balance would consist of some rough grazing and a little bit of low-lying bogland.”

The lands were rented for a number of years and have been well looked after, the agent says. The property also includes some outbuildings.
“There’s a nice three-bay slatted shed on the northern side of the farm, and there’s a hay shed/machinery shed joining onto that, so there are reasonably good wintering facilities. The lands are well-fenced and in good condition. Water and electricity are both connected.”
As regards the pricing, the agents are guiding the good land at between €12,000 and €15,000 per acre.
“We’re hoping for a figure of between €400,000 and €450,000 for the property altogether,” says Mr Lehane. “It’s a nice farm and there’s good local interest… it’s in good dairying countryside, with a lot of people milking cows around it.”
