30-acre Cork farm near Kerry border hoping to sell for €280,000
With Boherbue village 5km away, the property has good road frontage onto the L1109 (Newmarket to Boherbue) road.
New to the market with Newmarket-based auctioneer Liam Murphy is a 30-acre holding at Killasseragh, 3km from the bustling North Cork town of Newmarket.
With Boherbue village 5km away, the property has good road frontage onto the L1109 (Newmarket to Boherbue) road, with the River Owenkeale forming part of the boundary.
It should attract a good level of interest from Cork and Kerry, in an area known as the cradle of the co-operative movement.
“The number of workable acres here is about 21,” said Liam. “The rest is prone to flooding by the little river at the bottom of the property. But there’s big interest in it so far… the good land of the holding is very good.”
The property has a farmyard with a number of outbuildings, including a haybarn with a lean-to structure and a storage shed – all with direct access from the road.
“This holding has been well farmed, and it’s in good order,” adds Liam. “I’m hoping that it will achieve €275,000 to €280,000.”
This equates to between €9,100 and €9,300/acre overall. Disregarding the nine acres of flood plain, the per-acre price is more like €13,000.
