Top quality agricultural land in Kildare always generates serious interest and a 78.3-acre block of it (new to the market with Coonan Property of Maynooth) is as fine an example of Thoroughbred County land as one will see.

The farm in question is at Clonshanbo, Donadea and showcases the best of this county renowned for its fine land, according to selling agent Will Coonan:

“The land is of good quality with free draining soil,” says Will. “It has been very well maintained and it’s split into four well-sized divisions. The holding is currently in tillage but it could be used for most agricultural or equestrian purposes.”

There is a strong mixture of all kinds of agricultural activity in this part of Leinster, with a strong pedigree in bloodstock as well as beef cattle. In the case of this holding, the owner is a household name in bloodstock (one of many in the area), overseeing a tillage farm.

“Coolmore purchased the property in late 2015,” explains Will. “They have developed the holding into a first-class farm over the last 10 years with investment in land improvement and the overall presentation. The property is now presented in excellent condition and offers a high-quality agricultural holding in a prime location.” He went on to say, “Demand for good-quality agricultural land in the north Kildare area continues to grow, driven by its strong farming tradition and proximity to key transport links, and he expects strong interest in this farm from a wide range of buyers.”

The farm is fenced with a mixture of stud rail and mature hedging, with good road frontage onto a secondary road with one access point. The M4 (Dublin-Galway motorway) lies just 6km to the north of the holding, while the M7 (Cork/Limerick – Dublin motorway) is 13km to the south.

Kilcock is 7.5km away, Clane is 8km and Maynooth 10km. A drive to Dublin City centre or Dublin Airport takes approximately 45 minutes.

The asking price in excess of €1,475,000 (€19,000/acre) is reasonable for the high-quality package on offer.
