The Department of Agriculture is currently not considering the use of vaccines to combat bird flu in Ireland.

The Department of Agriculture is not currently considering the use of vaccines to combat bird flu at the moment, with poultry farmers and bird owners encouraged to house their birds immediately if their facilities allow, ahead of the compulsory housing order.

Bird owners were informed that if their flock can be housed with immediate effect, they should do so at the Irish Farmers’ Association (IFA) biosecurity webinar hosted on Thursday night.
