Beef Report: Prices have lifted by up to 10 cents/kg across the main categories this week

The suppliers are continuing to make ground on recovering more of the cuts over the past month.

Demand in the scarcity of supply is continuing to force prices at the factories upwards as the resistance of the processors is undermined by the pressure on them to secure higher intake at the plants.

The earlier forecasted drop of about 120,000 head in supply for the year has been exceeded by almost 25% in less than 10 months, with the official figures showing the kill to mid-October down 149,350 head.
