New to the market with Macroom-based auctioneers Killian Lynch is a 65.8-acre farm at Rossmore, just over 2km from Inchigeelagh and 14km from Macroom in West Cork. Cork city is a 40-minute drive to the east.
The lands in this part of Munster tend to vary between rolling hills and level pastureland, but it’s an area of vibrant agricultural activity.
The farm involves a substantial quantity of land with good road frontage and is presented in a number of lots:
- Lot 1 consists of 23 acres of land with a number of outbuildings and a derelict house. This represents a strong possibility of planning permission for anyone looking to develop a home on the site. The outbuildings are old, but once again, they will be of use to the right person.
- Lot 2 comprises 12.2 acres.
- Lot 3 comprises 6.5 acres of land.
- Lot 4 is 17.7 acres.
- Lot 5 is the smallest lot of just 4.4 acres.

“The land is divided into five lots and has extensive road frontage,” says Killian. “Overall, it’s of mixed nature. There is, for example, some top-quality pasture, which has been reseeded in recent years. Then there’s land in need of upgrading, as well as some rocky outcrop.”
The price guide is a reasonable €475,000 (€7,200/acre), but land in this area is often keenly contested.
