Despite increasing output, agricultural incomes still lag behind 2022 levels

The agricultural operating surplus increased by 58% last year, or by €1.6bn, to €4.3bn.

Agriculture output increased by 9% to just under €12.5bn during 2024, largely due to increasing prices, but agricultural incomes have yet to recover to their 2022 levels, new data from the Central Statistics Office (CSO) shows.

The CSO’s final 2024 estimate for output, input, and income in the agricultural sector shows agricultural operating surplus increased by 58% last year, or by €1.6bn, to €4.3bn.
