Community alerts embrace 'innovation while staying true to core mission' after 40 years

The community alert scheme set up 40 years ago by Muintir na Tíre after a surge in rural crime is more important than ever, the Oireachtas has been told.
Operated with the support of An Garda Síochána, it now has more than 1,000 groups representing over 200,000 people countrywide.
