The processors are paying 535c/kg for R-grade young bulls, with the numbers on offer continuing low, while the well-fleshed R-grade cow has moved to 490c/kg this week.

There is a bit more optimism on prices at the factories for cattle this week as demand from the processors steps up a gear.

While the overall intake remains strong, the factories continue to seek as many animals as available each week, and there is no carryover in the cold stores at the processing plants, such is the market demand for supply.
