The factories' downward pressure on the prices appears to have eased a notch this week, but it is only lurking in the background, and the processors are keeping suppliers aware that it has not taken an autumn holiday.
On the ground overall, the prices being paid appear to be largely similar to last week — while some of the factories are trying their hand at wiping another 5c/kg off the base price for both the steers and heifers.
