Further cuts for hogget, lamb and sheep prices

There is continuing demand for lambs at the factories, but they are pointing out that the market returns have eased since the ending of the religious celebrations.

Prices for all categories in the sheep sector have continued to decline this week with the suppliers having to accept a sharp cut in their returns from the factories.

The across the range price reductions for Spring lambs, hoggets and cast ewes has come at the end of a good run for the sector, which was badly needed to recompense for the difficult production season and higher costs.
