ACRES interim payment a 'financial lifeline' for farmers

Interim payments to participants in tranche one of the Agri-Climate Rural Environment Scheme (ACRES) have been described as a "financial lifeline for many farmers" as they deal with rising costs.
The Irish Natura and Hill Farmers Association (INHFA) has welcomed the announcement of Agriculture Minister Charlie McConalogue to issue an interim ACRES payment to those who have not yet received their advance payments for participation in the scheme.
