1,700 forestry workers needed

Almost six in ten young people believe that a career in forestry supports a more sustainable future, the research found.

Some 1,770 new forestry and wood processing jobs will be required to fulfil Ireland’s Forest Strategy.

A survey carried out by RED C for Coillte has also revealed that more than half of young people see themselves as suited to a career in forestry.
