Significant fall to beef throughput expected in 2024
In their forecast for this year, Bord Bia are estimating a drop of around 30,000 head in 2024.
The beef processors are digging in to stall further upward movement in the prices for cattle, at least for the present, while demand remains strong.
But the recovery in intake to more than 35,200 head last week has eased the pressure on the processors.
