Stephen Cadogan: Irish finishers amongst the world's most profitable
'In Europe, the average of the farms are not profitable, with Switzerland and Ireland being the exception,' according to the agri benchmark analysts
In global terms, Irish beef farmers are not doing too bad, according to the recently published agri benchmark Beef and Sheep Report 2023.
The report reveals the huge variation in beef farming globally, with some unexpected results such as very profitable suckler farming in Uganda in Africa, and high performance but even higher costs in Switzerland.
