Francie Gorman has strongly condemned the Government, saying it has "failed to support primary producers since it came into office" in his first speech as president of the Irish Farmers' Association (IFA).

He told the 69th AGM of the association held in the Irish Farm Centre on Tuesday that farmers' livelihoods are "under threat" and that from the Common Agricultural Policy, to nitrates, to late payments, "this Government has let farmers down".
