Strong post-Christmas demand for lamb
Factories are paying 670-680 cents/kg in general for the lambs this week.
After a good start to the New Year for the lamb trade at the factories, the momentum of market demand has continued to push the prices further in the favour of the producers this week.
The quoted prices have been increased by up to 10 cents/kg to deliver a quoted range at 645-660 cents/kg plus the usual bonus of 10-20 cents/kg for quality to be added.
