Funding for GRO-FarmS organic conversion research

The project will include research trials and an integrated organic drystock and tillage demonstration farm.

A research project to boost the resilience of organic farming and support Irish farmers making the conversion is set to receive ÂŁ1.3m of Teagasc and Department funding combined.

The 'Growing Resilient Organic Farming Systems' project, led by Teagasc and in collaboration with UCD, will develop and share with all stakeholders sustainable organic grass-based beef and sheep production system blueprints, as well as assessing the social, environmental and economic impacts of organic beef and sheep systems.
