Spruce bark beetles have been devasting the European forestry sector.

Foresters countrywide have been alerted to the finding of the first non-native bark beetle in Ireland.

The discovery of the monetary pine bark beetle in Co Clare was recently confirmed by the Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine.
