€12.5k-€13k an acre expected for West Cork holding
The farm is in the townland of Currabwee, fronting onto the R637 Dunmanway–Drinagh public road and the lake of the same name on its southern boundary.
A 69-acre farm in West Cork is drawing a surprising amount of attention so far, according to selling agent Damien Murray of Bandon-based Paddy Murray Auctioneers.
“We’ve had a nice bit of interest in it so far,” Mr Murray said. “It’s not long on the market but we’ve been surprised by the level of interest in it so far.”
The holding is in the townland of Currabwee, fronting onto the R637 Dunmanway–Drinagh public road and the lake of the same name on its southern boundary.
“A minor road cuts through the land as well. There are about 19-20 acres of it north of the road and approximately 50 acres to the south, which contains the derelict house and the yard,"Mr Murray said.
“The 20 acres north of the road consist of very good land, along with another 30 acres or so of the southern portion of the land. The remainder is of quite mixed quality, made up of smaller fields with some rock and waste ground in parts.”
The ground has been grazed for the past number of years and there is potential to improve the lesser-graded quality parts of the farm.
The price guide of between €12,500 to €13,000/acre reflects the kinds of strong prices land has been achieving in this part of Munster of late.
