Intake at the processing plants continues to edge upwards

Some of the plants continue to try their hand at offering a base of 455 cents/kg for the steers, very few animals are understood to be moving at that level.

Strong market demand for beef is stabilising the floor under the factory pricing as intake at the processing plants continues to edge upwards towards the Autumn peak supply.

The supply last week topped 38,400 head which was the highest weekly intake at the factories since early February 2023. However, it was still around 1,200 head less than for the corresponding week in 2022.
