Anger and frustration at sheep sector income crisis

The recent Teagasc assessment of sheep farm incomes showed net margins last year dropping by 81% to €7/ewe.

Farmers have left the Agriculture Minister and processors "in no doubt" about the seriousness of the income situation facing Ireland's second largest farming sector, IFA President Tim Cullinan said following a major sectoral meeting.

The IFA national sheep farmers meeting took place in Athlone on Monday night (January 23).
