Cullinan: Climate targets only possible if government plays its part

IFA president Tim Cullinan has warned the targetted 25% reduction in agricultural greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 would only be possible if the Government "plays its part".

Speaking at the 68th Annual General Meeting of the Irish Farmers’ Association in the Irish Farm Centre on Tuesday, Mr Cullinan told delegates: “If we get the right supports and fair measurement, our sector has a real opportunity to lead the way in reducing climate emissions. This will only happen if the Government brings farmers with them.
