Farmers’ help saved €200-€300m on roads
The “fantastic co-operation” from the farming community in development of roads has been acknowledged by Michael Nolan, chief executive of Transport Infrastructure Ireland.
“Without that, I would say the roads programme would have lasted a further two or three years, and would have cost a further €200 million or €300 million,” he told the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Transport, Tourism and Sport.
