If Ireland aims to compete, farmers need a level playing pitch as to information on their cows, so they can select the very best animals, and that means milk recording, writes Joe Sheehy

Data from the ICBF shows that there has been a huge increase in milk recording since 2005, the largest annual increase of 11% being in 2011.
