The Schmallenberg virus (SBV) which caused abortions and malformed calves and lambs in 2012 and 2013 hasn’t gone away.

Instead, it is likely that SBV will continue to circulate in Ireland every couple of years, said Teagasc researchers at last week’s Moorepark dairy open day.
