The upward movement in beef prices at the factories has been sharply stalled this week, as processors tightened the reins.

While most of the kill for the early days of this week would have been pre-purchased at last week’s prices, indications are that beef farmers will see returns reduced as much as 10 cents/kg by the weekend, as the seasonal pattern for the trade, all too familiar to sellers, kicks in.
