IFA Pigs Committee Chairman Tom Hogan said Irish prices remained relatively static again this week, at up to 172cent/kg (in Northern Ireland), while still climbing in other EU countries, and to 1.81c in Germany.

That price gap is worth around €2,500 per week to the average Irish pig farmer, said Mr Hogan, calling on the processing industry to increase prices to reflect positive trading on home and export markets.
